The maintenance routine is designed to keep your equipment in optimal condition. Regular maintenance ensures the longevity of the system and helps to prevent unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs. 

## Visual Inspection

- Inspect the unit for any signs of physical damage, such as cracks, dents, or scratches.  
Pay close attention to vulnerable areas like LiDAR, connectors, etc.
- Check all mounting fixtures, brackets, and screws for tightness and security.  
Ensure that the unit is securely fastened to its mounting surface.
- Examine all cables for signs of wear, fraying, or damage.  
Check cable connections to ensure they are secure and free of debris.
- Verify the power status of the unit.  
Ensure that power cables are securely connected and that there are no visible signs of damage.

**Frequency:** It is recommended you perform a weekly visual inspection of the Wave-Rugged before starting a new mission.

## LiDAR Cleaning

Cleaning the LiDAR regularly is essential to maintain its accuracy and performance. Stains on the LiDAR’s lense, such as dirt, fingerprints, and oil, can negatively affect point cloud data quality.  


- To avoid damaging the optical coating, DO NOT apply pressure when wiping the enclosure.
- Only clean the stained area of the enclosure.
- Check before using a lint-free wipe. If the wipe is stained, use another wipe.


Please perform the following steps to keep LiDAR clean and remove any stains:

1. To remove dust, blow dry air onto the enclosure, or use a piece of lint-free wipe to lightly brush across the dusty area. To remove persistent stains, move on to the next step.
2. Spray the enclosure with warm, neutral solvent using a spray bottle:  
-Solvent type 99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA)   
-or 99% ethanol (absolute alcohol)   
-or distilled water   
-Solvent temperature 40 to 60℃ 4)
3. When the stains have loosened, dip a piece of lint-free wipe into the solvent made in Step 3, and gently wipe the enclosure back and forth along its curved surface.
4. Should another cleaning agent be applied to remove certain stains, repeat Steps 3 and 4.
5. Spray the enclosure with clean water, and gently wipe off the remaining liquid with another piece of lint-free wipe.

**Frequency:** Adjust the cleaning frequency based on operational conditions to maintain optimal sensor performance. Environments with increased exposure to dust or other contaminants may require more frequent cleaning.

## Camera Lense Cleaning

Cleaning the camera lens regularly is crucial for maintaining clear and sharp images and videos. Follow these steps to clean your camera lens properly:

1. To remove dust, use a piece of lint-free wipe to lightly brush across the dusty area
2. To remove persistent stains, use a spray bottle to apply warm, neutral solvent to the lens.  
-Solvent type 99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA)   
-or 99% ethanol (absolute alcohol)   
-or distilled water   
-Solvent temperature 40 to 60℃ 4)

## Safety Precautions

- Before maintenance, ensure that the system is powered off and disconnected from any power source.
- Make sure to use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow the safety procedures of the work site.
