Layers represent data that can be displayed or hidden on the Explorer map. The layers available will depend on the configuration of Cordel Connect, as well as the zoom level the user is at on the map. ![image-20251211-004900.png](media://ca5099f1-ef5b-430e-b87c-0a65e3885af2) ### What Layers are available in Cordel Connect? #### **Network** Also known as a Linear Reference System (LRS), the Network Model represents the physical rail infrastructure. The entirety of your rail network infrastructure is mapped in Explorer using a cyan geolocated polyline, with associated metadata. #### **Coverage** A colour coded path which represents a combined display of all missions captured, typically in the last 12 months (though this is configurable). The colour of the coverage path reflects the status of the missions in any given area. Uploaded: Data has been captured for this section - but further processing has not been requested at this stage Requested: Data has been captured for this section - and further processing has been requested at this stage Processed: Data has been captured for this section - and it has been processed. Payload data is available for this segment. Note: Coverage replaces the mission layer when the Explorer map is zoomed out to a high level. ![image-20251110-231104.png](media://73ea3be2-7267-4ae9-acc1-8b1932b3f811) #### **Missions** This layer displays missions, which are segments of captured data (usually of approximately 15 minutes). Missions are represented as a blue path, known as a ‘mission path’. Infringement types depend on the Cordel solutions provided, for example kinematic, vegetation, ballast etc. Infringements are grouped together as clusters at higher zoom levels. ![image-20260205-045310.png](media://8a99be85-00d1-4cb0-831a-10d8d79c73d9) #### **Posts** Kilometer/Mile Posts are shown as a Layer on Explorer when provided to Cordel with the client Network Model. Layers are governed by zoom level, and some can only be toggled on when a user is zoomed in/out to a particular level. > ℹ️ Tip: Hover over a layer to see useful tooltip information about its zoom/display options. - Greyed out layers: Users cannot toggle this layer on, as they need to zoom in/out. ![image-20250512-055943.png](media://cbc1074f-5f24-402b-bdf3-3d3cd149b952) - Blue layers: This layer can be toggled on/off at this zoom level. The search results in Explorer are presented as a collection of ‘cards', where each card represents one search result. The cards are grouped by entity type, including missions, assets, structures and infringements (dependent on configuration).
