> 📝 Note: Depending on the configuration of your Clearance Connect module, surveys may be created automatically.


Navigate to surveys - Gauging> Surveys

Search for the survey you wish to view/edit and click the corresponding blue hyperlink. 

> 📝 You can also *right click *the blue hyperlink and choose to open a survey in a new window or tab. This keeps the survey search screen open for later use.

Once you are on the View Survey page you will be able to see: 

1. Pins on the map that represent the locations of the slices that belong to the chosen survey
2. The list of available slices
3. The survey details/meta data
4. A list of available actions
5. Track geometry
6. A history of previous actions that relate to this structure

## Map

The map controls include:

1. Zoom buttons
2. Full screen button
3. Map/Satellite button


To zoom in or out on the map, use the mouse scroll.

Details (Meta Data)

The Meta Details section is where you can view the general information, including details such as the survey date, status, survey method, etc

**How to change the Meta Data**

1. If you have permission to change the meta data details, you will see the edit icon in the top right hand side of the Details section.
2. Click the edit button.
3. Make the changes to the Meta Data that you need to
4. Click save

## Slices

1. Each slice in the structure is shown in the slices list directly under the map
2. Click a slice to view the details on the Slice Viewer page


## Actions

**View Video**

In the Actions section, click the ‘View Video’ link to view the AIVR video for this slice.

**Download Input Data**

In the Actions section, click the ‘Download Input Data’ button to download the clearance data for this slice.

**Download Clearance Data**

In the Actions section, click the ‘Download Gauging Data’ button to download the clearance data for this slice.


## Track Geometry

1. The track geometry graph displays key metrics (configured based on client requirements) such as cant, versine, radius etc. over the slices in the structure
2. Hover over the graph and move the mouse to see each point of slice data displayed

History

Any actions performed using the Clearance Data Management system is tracked in the Audit log.

**How To Add a Note To the History**

Occasionally you will need to add a manual note to the history. To do this:

1. Click the '+' icon in the top right hand side of the history section
2. Type the note you wish to add
3. Click save

> 📝 Note: notes that have been added to History manually can be edited by clicking the edit icon. Notes added to history by the system cannot be edited, and therefore do not display the edit icon
